Michael Baum
Splunk Inc.
Michael Baum is Chief Executive Splunker. Splunk is the world's first search software that indexes and links together all the IT data generated by any service, application or device making it possible for search and navigate running IT infrastructure. It's a radical new approach to troubleshooting and improving availbility. During his career, Michael has been building and managing complex computing environments at Yahoo, Infoseek and several companies he's co-founded. His focus now is applying many of the innovations and affordances that grew out of the Web to the challenges of managing the modern data center.
In addition to Splunk, Michael is a co-founder of Collation, acquired by IBM's Tivoli Group and Arthas, acquired by Yahoo. Michael was a software engineer at IBMs Silicon Valley Laboratory and a member of the original IBM PC development team. He has a B.S. in Computer Science from Drexel University and an M.B.A. from the Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania.
