Contributing to MySQL as an Outsider

Learn what it takes to work on the MySQL source code as an outsider. Tools, such as ccache and ctags, building MySQL releases, and testing them in a sandbox, creating patches, contributing them, packaging builds. Several new features will be walked through and discussed to help you understand what work is required to add various types of features.

Contributing to MySQL as an outsider is not as easy as it is being an employee of MySQL AB -- find out the tools you need and the tips to make you successful in getting your new ideas implemented.
