Session

InnoDB: Status, Architecture, and New Features

Heikki Tuuri, Vice President, server technology, Innobase Oy

Track: Storage Engine Development and Optimization
Date: Tuesday, April 24
Time: 4:40pm - 5:25pm
Location: Ballroom E

InnoDB is the most popular, reliable, and functional of the transactional storage engines available for MySQL. InnoDB provides transactions, row-level locking, multiversion concurrency control for superior performance and referential integrity, XA-distributed transactions, and all four ANSI SQL transaction isolation levels to ensure the integrity of your database.

This session will be jointly presented by Ken Jacobs, VP Product Strategy for Oracle's Server Technology Division, and Heikki Tuuri, VP of the InnoDB group at Oracle. Tuuri is the founder of Innobase Oy, and the architect and chief implementor of InnoDB. Their talk will describe the InnoDB architecture in depth, and discuss the new powerful performance-enhancing capabilities in InnoDB that will be introduced with MySQL V5.1.
