What Happens After You're Scalable: Capacity Planning for LAMP

John Allspaw, Manager, Technical Operations, Flickr.com

Track: LAMP
Date: Thursday, April 26
Time: 11:50am - 12:35pm
Location: Ballroom C

This talk will focus on the "do or die" fundamentals of capacity planning for a site that will experience rapid growth. Databases, caching layers, application servers...they all need new capacity at some point. We'll consider the Why, When, and How Much to add, and take a look at some techniques and tools used to measure and predict capacity needs. We'll also look at architecture decisions that can make capacity planning easier.
