Amazon EC2 is on-demand computing capacity with a Web service Interface that provides resizable compute capacity in the cloud. It provides you with complete control of your computing resources and lets you run on Amazon's proven computing environment. Amazon EC2 reduces the time required to obtain and boot new server instances to minutes, allowing you to quickly scale capacity, both up and down, as your computing requirements change. Amazon EC2 changes the economics of computing by allowing you to pay only for capacity that you actually use.
Amazon EC2 is in limited beta and we continue to aggressively solicit your feedback as we refine the service. In this talk, Jinesh Varia, Evangelist for Amazon Web Services, will discuss features and benefits of Amazon EC2 in detail and also share the feedback received so far from the developer community, one of them being desire to run database within the cloud more efficiently.
MySQL Cluster is a fault tolerant, scalable, high-performance database with an in-built clustering and unique shared-nothing architecture. With new 5.x clustering features and enhancements, MySQL database certainly adds a lot of value to existing Amazon EC2 Platform.
In this talk, Gururaja Rao, Lead Engineer of Product Engineering Group at Wipro, will propose an innovative solution using the new clustering features of MySQL 5.x and on-demand computing capacity of Amazon EC2 to create an highly available and scalable service. We would like to get your feedback on the proposed solution.
