BXXP - The Blocks eXtensible eXchange Protocol

Track: Birds-Of-A-Feather
Date: Tuesday, July 18
Time: 6:00pm - 7:00pm
Location: San Carlos IV

Moderator: Kris Magnusson

Summary: The Blocks eXtensible eXchange Protocol (BXXP) is a new proposed standard framework for protocols. It uses XML as a standard format, provides reusable profiles for authentication and transport security, and enables the creation of standard and custom data communication profiles. The BXXP was described eloquently by Dr. Marshall T. Rose in an Internet-draft and is currently the focus of an IETF working group. Current data communication profiles include the Invisible Worlds Simple Exchange Profile; future profiles include the Simple Object Access Profile (SOAP) and the Internet Messaging eXchange Profile (IMXP).
