Rasmus Lerdorf, Yahoo!
Jim Winstead, Maintenance Engineer, MySQL, Inc.

Track: PHP Tutorial
Date: Tuesday, July 18
Time: 8:45am - 12:15pm
Location: Bonzai II-III

Who Should Attend:
Web site developers, system administrators, and anyone responsible for developing Web pages with dynamic content.

The Web is growing at a tremendous pace and the demands for content beyond simple static pages keeps increasing. There is a critical shortage of people capable of producing pages with dynamic content. PHP is an HTML-embedded Web scripting language that lowers the bar somewhat and makes building dynamic Web pages faster and easier for Web site developers of all skill levels.

If you're new to PHP and Web development in general, this 3-hour tutorial is for you. We'll cover the history and development of PHP and slowly walk through a complete example showing how PHP can be used to build a dynamic Web site. We'll also explore how PHP has been deployed on a number of large sites.
