Who Should Attend:
Who Should Attend: Intermediate to advanced Win32 Perl programmers familiar with Perl concepts such as arrays, hashes, references and object oriented programming (OOP). Learn how the OLE and COM technologies work, how to invoke them through Perl and how to make efficient use of them to solve everyday problems.

In order to truly exploit the power of OLE automation you must know where and how to find documentation on the various object models for various programs. We'll discuss the tricks of discovering such information. By now almost everyone is aware of the Win32::OLE extension and its wonderful ability to interact with COM and OLE. It is how to use the extension that causes most Perl coders pain. Learn how the OLE and COM technologies work, how to invoke them through Perl and how to make efficient use of them to solve everyday problems. We will discuss how you can truly exploit the power of OLE automation as well as where and how to find documentation on the various object models for various programs.

This tutorial is an expansion on the COM and OLE material presented in Dave's tutorial at this conference last year.
