The talk has a number of aims:

to explain Jabber and its relevance and importance as a messaging architecture, also condsidering the wider picture of P2P/B2B, SOAP and so on
to provide an overview of the Net::Jabber module family and examples of how the individual modules are employed and the framework extended
to show that new (Jabber) and established (Perl) open source technologies can work together to provide a great boost to traditional "walled" ERP solutions
to prove that you can have a great deal of fun at work (and get away with it) with just a little imagination
