Track: Strategic Summit
Date: Wednesday, July 25
Time: 3:45pm
- 5:15pm
Location: Catalina Ballroom
The escalating challenge for data privacy and security within the enterprise is due to legislative mandates, and increasing public awareness. Litigation is increasing for the misuse of personal, financial and medical data. This is a data management issue with huge consequences to the IT infrastructure of existing organizations.
The topic is two fold:
- Do open and/or collaborative development efforts enhance, or further complicate the deployment of systems to monitor and track data usage?
- Have the innovations from the open source development community contributed to the solutions with the use of Apache, JBOSS, Interbase and even OpenAdapter to create more effective, fault tolerant solutions? Where have they been implemented, and, if so, have they scaled?
This panel discussion will first address the global issues of privacy and security for the enterprise—before moving forward into a discussion of implementation and deployment.
