Alan W. Black
Alan W Black is faculty at the Language Technologies Institute at Carnegie Mellon University and co-founder of Cepstral, LLC, a company offering voice building services on top of free software synthesis engines. He has over 15 years in speech and language research, publishing more than 50 papers in those fields. He is a principal author of Edinburgh University's Festival Speech Synthesis System, and co-author of the forthcoming O'Reilly book "Building Synthetic Voices", and co-author of FestVox and Flite.
