Session
Why SOAP Sucks, Why SOAP Rocks
Matt Sergeant, MessageLabs Inc.
Track: XML
Date: Wednesday, July 24
Time: 4:30pm - 5:15pm
Location: Marina II
This fun talk discusses the things wrong with SOAP, and why you almost certainly shouldn't be using it in your application. We will discuss some alternatives to SOAP, such as simple plain old HTTP, and also MIME RPC, and demonstrate the benefits of those. Then we turn the tables, and talk about why SOAP actually rocks, and why you should definitely be using it instead of some namby pamby inferior protocol like HTTP.
