Managestar made a decision 10 months ago to use a mix of open source and proprietary code in its product offerings. Managestar open-sourced parts of it own offerings (modules for calendaring, purchase orders, inventory management) and began to include code from other open source projects in its products. This decision has paid off handsomely for Managestar. This session details the benefits and the hidden obstacles to success.
