Session
Creating PDF documents with PHP
Rasmus Lerdorf, Yahoo!
Track: PHP
Date: Friday, July 26
Time: 1:45pm - 2:30pm
Location: Marina IV
Sometimes it is important to know exactly what the user sees. With HTML you are never quite sure how something will appear, and when it comes to printing it is even less certain what will come out of the user's printer. To get much better control for things like invoices, forms, or pamphlets you can generate PDF directly from PHP. The combination of PHP and pdflib can be used to easily create complete PDF documents containing graphics, templates, patterns, thumnails, and bookmarks.
This fast-moving session will walk through each step of creating a PDF document from PHP.
Rasmus Lerdorf has been designing large-scale UNIX-based solutions since
1989 and is well-known as the creator of the PHP scripting language. He is
the coauthor of
Programming
PHP
and the author of PHP
Pocket Reference.
