The Apache Batik project is a toolkit for the W3C Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) Recommendation. It includes an SVG browser, a transcoder and rasterizer, and an SVG generator using the Java2D API. It is a complete implementation of
static SVG 1.0, and by the time of the conference will be well along the way to dynamic SVG, providing animation and scripting. Currently the project is about 250,000 lines of Java code from four main contributors. Batik has been integrated into a number of commercial and open source products.
Get the skinny on the Batik project, including demonstrations of SVG animations, server-side SVG rasterization and SVG generation. Be there for a discussion about the comprehensive test infrastructure developed by Batik. Of course, being a graphics project, there will be lots of snazzy demos!
