Introduction to XML Schemas
Eric van der Vlist, Dyomedea
Track: XML
Date: Thursday, July 25
Time: 3:45pm - 4:30pm
Location: Marina II
This tutorial will help you get started with W3C XML Schema and its object-oriented approach to describing the structure of XML documents. The flexibility and extensibility of XML is impossible for applications to handle if they don't have knowledge of the structure of the documents. This knowledge may be implicit and hardwired into applications but making it explicit, formalized and processable makes it possible to reuse generic frameworks for tasks such as validation, editing or application generation. Eric van der Vlist is the author of O'Reilly's XML Schema and a frequent contributor to XML.com.
