Hacking your mail with Milter
Derek Balling, Byram Healthcare

Track: BOF
Date: Thursday, July 25
Time: 6:00pm - 7:00pm
Location: Harbor Island II

Moderated by: Derek Balling, Byram Healthcare

Sendmail's libmilter library allows the administrator to have code callbacks at every stage of the SMTP session, with each callback having the ability to reject the message, accept it, or continue onward with the session. Some folks use it for spam-filtering, some use it for virus-detection or attachment-stripping, some use it simply to add those disclaimers at the bottom of law-firms' mail.

We'll swap stories of who is using Milter, and for what, and discuss problems folks have encountered while using it, as well as, hopefully, show some folks who have never used Milter before how easy it is for them to do some of the more complex stuff they want to do, IF they use the Milter library.
