A Contrarian Position on Open Source
Bruce Sterling, WIRED

Track: Emerging Topics
Date: Friday, July 26
Time: 11:30am - 12:15pm
Location: Sea Breeze II

Bruce Sterling presents a contrarian perspective on open source software, from the point of view of an author of several science fiction novels including Involution Ocean, The Artificial Kid, Schismatrix, Islands in the Net, and Heavy Weather. His non-fiction book, The Hacker Crackdown, describes the law enforcement and computer-crime activities that led to the start of the Electronic Frontier Foundation in 1990.
