Inside ~damian/bin
Damian Conway, Thoughtstream

Track: Perl
Date: Monday, July 07
Time: 8:45am - 12:15pm
Location: Salon E

Conway's tutorial explores how one of the most prolific contributers to CPAN manages to be so productive. It examines the Unix environment under which he works and shows how simple enhancements to his shell environment, editor command set, and command-line utilities dramatically improve his work-flow. The course also explores and explains the numerous hand-built Perl programs that implement many of these customizations, as well as some of the Perl modules that made those "helper" programs so easy to create. Applying the Perl virtue of Laziness to your programming environment--even if it's not Unix--can significantly increase your productivity. This tutorial shows you how.
