Intro to Perl Testing
 chromatic, O'Reilly Media, Inc.
Michael G. Schwern

Track: Perl
Date: Monday, July 07
Time: 1:45pm - 5:15pm
Location: Columbia

Perl's Kwalitee Assurance department has developed several tools and techniques for testing Perl code. This tutorial will introduce the basic ideas of testing, them demonstrate effective Perl testing with Test::Simple, Test::More, and Test::Harness. By the end of the talk, you will understand how testing works in Perl. You will be able to identify testable code, and you will know which tools to use, and will be able to write modules that are adequately tested -- even if they have existing, untested code.
