Mono is a .NET framework similar, but not identical, to MS.NET. In this tutorial, Gross introduces Mono and C# and shows how to write applications using engineering principles. Engineering means using software practices in conjunction with a programming language to realize applications that are maintainable and do what is required of them. Specifically highlighted are features from Mono and C# designed to improve programs in an engineering context.
