The Helix Python Player Extension (PyPlayer) is a Python interface for the Helix DNA Client, allowing playback of MP3, MPEG-4, Ogg Vorbis, RealAudio, RealVideo, & many other formats. PyPlayer allows for scripted playback and other automation tasks using the Helix DNA media engine (the same engine used by the RealOne Player).
This session is of interest to any Python programmer who wants to monitor media server performance, automate metadata fetching, or script media playback. During this session we will look at a spider application to extract multimedia metadata, a sample load testing application, & if time allows a sample GUI player application created using Tkinter.
