Session
PostgreSQL-embedded Statistical Analysis with PL/R
Joseph Conway
Track: PostgreSQL
Date: Thursday, July 10
Time: 11:30am - 12:15pm
Location: Salon A
PL/R is a loadable procedural language that enables you to write
PostgreSQL functions in the R programming language. PL/R offers most (if
not all) of the capabilities a function writer has in the R language.
This presentation will cover, through an example, how PL/R functions may
be used to easily and efficiently perform statistical processing of data
stored in PostgreSQL, returning multi-row, multi-column results, and
even creating JPEG graphics for display by a client application. This
session appeals to anyone who needs to perform more sophisticated
analysis of their data than simple aggregates can provide.
