There are a variety of things that you can do to make your Apache web server run faster. We'll talk about the major categories of things that you'll need to look at, and specific changes that you can make to ensure that your server is running as fast and efficiently as possible.

Specific areas covered will be, among other things:

  • Reducing the memory footprint by removing unnecessary modules
  • Appropriate use of .htaccess files
  • Process creation
  • DNS lookups
  • and other things as time allows.
