Gentoo Linux is incredibly flexible, sometimes jokingly called the most masochistic of Linux distributions. The goal of Gentoo Linux is to give you as many options as possible, including compiling absolutely everything from scratch. If you know what you want, this is bliss. If you don't, Gentoo is a sure way to teach you about all the little parts of Linux you pretend to know. This talk is all about Gentoo Linux.

The talk starts with a quick overview of Linux including the common Linux distributions, and then the talk will focus specifically on Gentoo and what Gentoo Linux offers. If you want a fully customzied and completely optimized computer, Gentoo Linux is the way to go. We won't actaully compile a Gentoo system (it can take a while!), but by the end of the talk you'll probably want to start compiling your own.
