Programming patterns are powerful tools. If used correctly, they have the potential to make your life a lot easier, but when abused, they achieve quite the opposite effect. Instead of abusing patterns to create another "Java struts" framework in PHP, we'll find specific patterns that have been used in actual PHP-based web projects. Some examples we'll be covering include Composite, Observer, Aggregate, Proxy, Representational State Transfer (REST), and Templates (yes, programming patterns do not have to be object-oriented).
