This hands-on tutorial will allow attendees to experience hacking from the perspective of an intruder. Technical and non-technical hacking methods with be covered, including social engineering, exploiting publicly available information, physical access, wireless hacking, network reconnaissance and profiling, system attack and compromise, privilege escalation, and network sniffing. Attack methods and countermeasures will be explored. Attendees who wish to participate hands-on are welcome to bring their own laptops and network cables. A limited number of Knoppix CDs will be available.
