ASF, ObjectWeb and Other Java/J2EE Non-profit Communities: Fostering Collaboration and Maintaining Identities

Track: BOF
Date: Wednesday, July 28
Time: 9:00pm - 10:00pm
Location: Salon C

This BOF will be co-moderated by representatives from the Apache Software Foundation and the ObjectWeb Consortium. The two non-profit organizations cooperated for months on J2EE-related projects (JOnAS, Geronimo). What achievements where obtained ? What lessons where learnt ? What legal stumbling blocks stay in the way ? How to foster this kind of collaboration in the future while maintaining the identity of the separate development communities ?
