Jeff Norris
Jeff Norris is a senior computer scientist in the Mobility Systems Concept Development Section at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and team lead for the 2003 Mars Exploration Rover Mission Science Activity Planner. Norris is also the manager of the Maestro public outreach effort for the mission. He is currently a Tactical Activity Planner on the Integrated Sequencing Team for the Spirit Mars Rover and is responsible for the daily construction of the integrated rover activity plan. His research interests include collaborative, distributed operations for Mars rovers and landers, secure data distribution, science data visualization, and human/computer interaction. Norris has bachelor's and master's degrees in electrical engineering and computer science from MIT and is working toward a Ph.D. in computer science at the University of Southern California. Norris lives with his wife Kamala and daughter Vivian in La Crescenta, CA.
