Rob Mensching
By day Rob is a Software Design Engineer at Microsoft Corporation. For the last 5 years he has worked to improve the state of setup (a.k.a. "software installation and deployment") inside and outside of the company. By night Rob is the benevolent dictator of the Windows Installer XML toolset. For the last 5 years he has worked to improve Microsoft's understanding of Open Source via his development practices on the Windows Installer XML toolset. Recently Rob's two worlds collided and the Windows Installer XML toolset was released to SourceForge as an official Open Source project from Microsoft. Despite much fanfare, Rob continues to work to improve the state of setup and improve Microsoft's understanding of Open Source.
