David Patrick is General Manager responsible for Novell's Resource Management Services business unit and Ximian Linux product group. The Resource Management Services business unit is responsible for developing enterprise technology asset management services for Novell customers, including Novell's ZENworks, Ximian's Linux-based Red Carpet Enterprise products, while the Ximian Group oversees Ximian Desktop, and Mono, the .Net developer platform for Linux.
David, with over 20 years' experience in the software industry, joined Novell in 2003, as part of the acquisition of Ximian, where he was President and CEO. Prior to that, he served as president of worldwide sales and operations for The Learning Company. He has also served as vice president for worldwide sales at the Tops networking division of Sun Microsystems, and before that as the president of Migent International. He has also held a number of senior sales positions at Ashton-Tate and Lotus. David also sits on the board of Thinq an enterprise software company that focuses on learning management solutions.
David is a graduate of the Berklee School of Music with a BA in Music Composition.
