Session
Using and Extending Sprog
Grant McLean, Senior Developer, Catalyst IT Limited
Track: Emerging Topics
Date: Wednesday, August 3rd, 2005
Time: 2:35pm - 3:20pm
Location: E144
Sprog is a GUI tool that allows end-users to create their own solutions to common problems--and to have fun doing it. Sprog builds on the Unix command pipeline concept but in a GUI environment where a pipeline is assembled by dragging and dropping components and tweaking options via dialogs.
Using Sprog
This session will begin with an introduction to Sprog and a demonstration of some sample applications. The process of assembling, configuring, and running 'machines' will be covered.
Extending Sprog
The second half of the session will look at extending Sprog by customizing the behavior of existing components and by creating completely new components.
