Keith Wesolowski, Engineer- OpenSolaris, Sun Microsystems, Inc.
Track: Linux
Date: Wednesday, August 3rd, 2005
Time: 2:35pm - 3:20pm

The release of the source code for the Solaris Operating System as an open source project has prompted a lot of questions. Why is Sun doing this? Is it really open? Will Sun take back contributions from the external community? How will this change Solaris? Will you allow alternative distributions? What's the development process? How can I get involved?
In this talk, we'll answer the questions above, talk about current status and challenges, and discuss the roadmap for the future.
