Session
Using Apache and PHP to Defend Your System
Ken Coar, MeepZor Consulting
Track: Apache
Date: Thursday, August 4th, 2005
Time: 2:35pm - 3:20pm
Location: D135
The Internet is no longer quite the friendly leave-your-doors-unlocked small-town neighborhood it was a few years ago. It has become more big-city and big business, and from the script-kiddies to the spammers to the crackers, unfriendly elements have come to town, and every system owner has had to learn to lock things up.
In addition to all the new sys admin-annoying methods that keep getting developed, there's a seemingly endless supply of new people rediscovering the old methods. Rather than spending time dealing with all this old news but bad, enlist your system itself in the effort to block out the 'routine' annoyances. This talk describes some ways to do this with Apache and PHP.
