Session
RAD That Ain't Bad -- Domain Driven Development with Trails
Chris Nelson, Consultant, FusionAlliance
Track: Java
Date: Thursday, August 4th, 2005
Time: 11:35am - 12:20pm
Location: Portland 255
Java development is too hard and it takes too long. What if we could harness the extremely rapid development style of technologies like Ruby on Rails in Java? The Trails project aims to prove this approach. By focusing the developer on the domain model and letting other software layers be "magically assumed into existence," Trails provides extremely rapid development without the disadvantages of most current RAD tools.
In this session, we'll build a real Trails application in a matter of minutes. We'll then explore the features of the Trails framework, how it works, and where it is going.
