Session
Getting Up to Speed with Apache Geronimo
Tom McQueeney
Track: Apache
Date: Thursday, August 4th, 2005
Time: 11:35am - 12:20pm
Location: D135
This session gets Java developers rapidly up to speed with Apache Geronimo, the newest open source J2EE 1.4 application server. Developers will learn how to:
- Deploy web applications
- Deploy EJBs
- Deploy web services
- Configure Geronimo's built-in database and messaging servers
- Choose between the Tomcat and Jetty web containers
Geronimo is being actively developed by the Apache Software Foundation. Geronimo's Apache license allows developers and businesses to use Geronimo and its source code for any purpose, including commercial and closed source. Geronimo is the only open-source J2EE server with this licensing flexibility.
