Open Source Skill Building
Jim Jagielski, CTO, Covalent Technologies
Brian Behlendorf, Founder & CTO, CollabNet
Track: Open Source Business Review
Date: Thursday, August 4th, 2005
Time: 1:45pm - 2:30pm
Location: E146
The highest skilled organizations are almost always the largest users of
open source. In the best of circumstances, when most IT departments
adopt open source this means making a commitment, often one that is
unacknowledged, to building the skills needed to manage open source.
This session, led by Jon Williams and Gautam Guliani, of Stanley Kaplan,
will explore the realities of skill building. Can it be done? How easy
is it? What sort of commitment is involved.
