BOF
java.net Projects and Bridging the Digital Divide
Track: BOF
Date: Wednesday, August 3rd, 2005
Time: 7:30pm - 8:30pm
Location: D136
Moderated by Marla Parker
java.net is a source repository for Java technology collaboration. Most (but not all) projects are open source and in the Java programming language. This will be an informal BOF for anyone interested in learning more about the java.net community and also anyone interested in bridging the digital divide (see definition in wikipedia.org). All java.net community members at the conference are invited to attend and welcome to speak about their projects on java.net, whether or not they have anything to do with digital divide. The idea to collect stories and projects on java.net related to digital divide issues grew out of some discussions and presentations at JavaOne in June. Hosted by Marla Parker, Community Manager, and other java.net staff, Community Leaders, and Project Owners, depending on schedule and availability.
