BOF Humanities Informatics Track: BOF Date: Monday, August 1st, 2005 Time: 6:00pm - 7:00pm Location: E144 Humanities Informatics is an emerging cross-disciplinary field in academics bringing together the humanities and information theory, especially in developing web-based tools for analyzing and accessing traditional documents and collections. As with some of the other informatics fields, HI represents an opportunity for academe and open source to work together, providing opportunities for OS members to enjoy academic work while helping members of the academy learn some of the OS community techniques and paradigms. This BOF is an informal discussion of what HI means for each of us and gives us an opportunity to meet others who have a similar interest in HI.
