Widgets (aka Konfabulator) Jeffrey McManus, CEO, Approver.com Track: Products & Services Date: Wednesday, August 3rd, 2005 Time: 11:35am - 12:20pm Yahoo! provides a growing suite of APIs for developers to use in their applications on a noncommercial basis free of charge. This session will provide quick demonstrations of some of our existing APIs (including Web Search, Flickr, and the RSS-based Maps API). We'll also show off a few newly-released APIs, which will be demonstrated here for the first time anywhere. If that isn't enough, we'll also demonstrate Konfabulator, a platform for creating software widgets that run on the Macintosh and Windows desktop that can consume and display local and remote data. Widgets are built using standard images, JavaScript and XML; they are compelling way to create client applications that consume and display Web content.
