Session H2O Playlists -- Social Bookmarking for Education Molly Krause, Beckman Center Hal Roberts, Berkman Center Track: Emerging Topics Date: Thursday, August 4th, 2005 Time: 5:20pm - 6:05pm Location: Portland 252 This September, the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard Law School will launch H2O Playlists -- an open source tool for free educational exchange. In music, the playlist lets everyone share their expertise with friends and networks online. At Berkman, we are extending this communal mapping of music to the world of information and educational resources. H2O Playlists are series of recommended books, articles, media, or blogs that collectively inform users on a subject, current event, or academic course. They serve as guided explorations by knowledgeable sources -- experts and amateurs alike -- of the vast amounts of material available online. At OSCON, we will demonstrate the beta version of our online tool and foster discussion on collaborative knowledge-sharing projects. We look forward to your feedback on this new technology.
