Byron Sebastian Source Labs Byron Sebastian founded SourceLabs with the goal of offering and supporting the first integrated, dependable open source systems for enterprise use. Byron conceived of SourceLabs after in-depth interviews with over 40 large enterprises and independent software vendors whose deployment of open source software was impeded by the lack of reliable testing, support and maintenance alternatives. Byron has held various product development and management positions at Amazon.com, Microsoft, BEA and Crossgain. Prior to working in the software industry, Byron was a journalist in Prague, in the Czech Republic. Most recently, Byron was Vice President and General Manager of the WebLogic Portal and Workshop Divisions at BEA. Byron holds a BA degree in Political Science and Biology from The University of Chicago, and did graduate study in biochemistry at the Salk Institute for Biological Sciences in La Jolla, CA.
