Claire Giordano OpenSolaris http://www.opensolaris.org Claire Giordano manages the OpenSolaris Marketing team at Sun. Most recently, Claire directed the engineering effort to open source the Solaris Operating System and led the team that created the OSI-approved CDDL open source license for OpenSolaris. She also managed the engineering teams that developed the Zones, Service Management Facility, Resource Management and Volume Manager capabilities for Solaris 10. Claire started her tech career as a developer in the tools space and has contributed to Solaris since the SunOS 5.0 days. In the mid-90s, Claire founded the Solaris Platinum Beta program, which continues to connect customers and developers to this day. Claire holds a BS degree from Brown University in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science. In her spare spare time, Claire can be found carving turns at Sugarbowl. Women in Open Source
