As enterprises use more open source software solutions, they are struggling to deal with some of the unique characteristics of the open source software development model. One of the main challenges to most enterprises is how to interact with the open source community. Some prohibit all interaction; some allow emails to the mailing list but no patch submissions; and a few allow their employees to actively participate in the open source community.

OpenLogic maintains integration between 150+ open source projects and, in the process, has gained valuable insight into how to interact with open source communities. As part of this, OpenLogic will share how it operates its Expert Community to bring enterprise customers and open source developers closer together as part of its support program, and deliver mutual benefits to help enterprise/community interaction thrive.
