Track: Emerging Topics
Date: Monday, July 24
Time: 1:30pm - 5:00pm
Location: D137-138

So your open source community is meeting face to face. What should you do? This workshop is designed for you to gain insight and experience into the art of how to lead participatory processes to make the best of these rare opportunities.

We will cover a range of topics including the art of invitation, creating space, "icebreakers," productive collaborative processes (examples include open space technology and appreciative inquiry), and closings. The use of web tools to augment these face-to-face processes will be covered and attention will also be given to difficult communication patterns that can arise and ways to deal with them.
