Track: Perl
Date: Thursday, July 27
Time: 4:30pm
- 5:15pm
Location: Portland 251
For many programmers the biggest obstacle to writing tests seems to be starting. It's nice to hear about the theory of testing, but until you've actually sat down and written a few tests and seen how easy it is, testing is a strange world.
The purpose of this talk is to get programmers over the hump of writing their first tests by writing the tests live. People attending the talk are encouraged to bring their laptops with them. Schwern will lead the participants through the creation of a small module, writing tests as he goes along. When the talk is over, particpants will have written their first tests.
