Movies about computer history are not very frequent, and when they are, they're not always a lot of fun to watch. But they're a vital way to understand the people and ideals that helped form the technical present. If done right, they can teach, entertain, and bring back the past.

Jason Scott talks about why documentaries of technical history are important, how he approaches them, and shows a few clips from his Bulletin Board System documentary BBS, and some work-in-progress from his current project, GET LAMP, a documentary about text adventures.
