Using OpenSolaris and its ZFS and Zones facilities, it is possible to create virtual servers very quickly. After creating a single zone, new zones can quickly be made by cloning the existing zone and then modifying it to suit your needs. The ZFS snapshot ability allows you to make a copy of a file system nearly instantly. This snapshot can then be modified and becomes a new virtual server in almost no time.
