Over the last 11 years, Cox has developed software and worked on the security teams of some of the most popular open source projects including Apache httpd, mod_ssl, and OpenSSL. Cox is a founding member of the Apache Software Foundation and the OpenSSL project, and a board member of the Mitre Common Vulnerabilities and Exposure project.
