Today's web environments are complex creatures. Users' requests go through a jungle of networking equipment, servers, application services and custom code to obtain the simplest of responses. As architectures grow in complexity the need for quick and accurate identification of problems is crucial. In this tutorial we will dig deep into complex web architectures in order to improve our production troubleshooting skills and focus intently on the quick and accurate identification of pain-points and briefly on the correction of the problem.

We will discuss the importance of systemic monitoring and business monitoring as well as graphing metrics important to both business and operations. You will develop revision control strategies that can be efficiently and effectively used in an operations environment.

Filled with anecdotes and interesting operations war stories, the tutorial will not only present useful technologies and methodologies, but will also illustrate the consequences of mistakes.
